Philippine's War on Drugs

A blessed day to all,

I just saw this figures and computed the numbers, there were a total of 733,763 number of people who either got arrested or surrendered to the government. There were 1,167 deaths which is 0.16% only of the total numbers and yet the out cry from the international community and the local human rights group has been blown out of proportion.  First and foremost I would like to give my condolences to those who have lost their loved ones due to war on drugs.

There are several forces behind these deaths:
1. From a legitimate police operation - the suspect resisted the arresting officer
2. From the so called vigilante group
3. From those who are involved on drugs themselves - erasing their trails by killing their own.
4. From a murder case - making it look like death due to drugs so as to escape prosecution.
5. etc.

From the start (campaign period) till now, the Philippine president Duterte had been very vocal about it, warning everyone with dealings on drugs to stop all illegal drug activities because the full force of the law will be used to go after them, including the police discharging their firearms (self defense) to anyone resisting arrest.  So everyone has been warned including those who died but they chose death rather than life.

Before president Duterte came to power and before the war on drugs there were rampant street crimes, holdup, kidnapping, car napping, rape (woman and children), and other kinds of un-imaginable crimes being committed almost daily but I don't hear the local or international human rights shout out and cry for all this innocent victims before.

The Philippine war on Drugs is a must and need not be delayed or derailed otherwise there will be no future for our children left.  According to reports, illegal drugs activity have already infiltrated the police, mayor, congressman, senator, etc.  Thanks to President Duterte for his actions on eradicating this drug menace in the Philippines. I hope that someday the Philippines will once again become the pearl of the orient.

Thank you,

AGP
